A native New Englander, Mark Small received his Bachelor of Music Degree
from New England Conservatory of Music and his Master of Music Degree from California State University
at Fullerton, both in classical guitar performance. A well known music journalist, Mark's articles
and transcriptions appear regularly in Guitar Player, Soundboard, and Acoustic Guitar
magazines. Mark has performed throughout the U.S. with ensembles ranging from jazz groups to the Boston
Opera Company. He has served on music faculties of several colleges, including Dartmouth College. He is
currently the editor of Berklee Today magazine at Berklee College of Music in Boston.
Robert Torres, a Southern California native, received his Bachelor of Music Degree from California State
University at Fullerton and his Master of Music Degree from the Boston Conservatory of Music. Robert has performed
extensively on the East and West Coasts as a solo recitalist and as a member of various chamber ensembles
and is presently on the music faculty at Dean College in Franklin, Massachusetts.
Onstage and in
person, the partners play fluidly, almost as one, their command of their instruments matched only by their
commitment to musical excellence.
